August, 29, 1998 – May 17, 2020
Christia Lanae, was the youngest of 4. She was always smiling, as her smile would light up a room. She was known as Tia or Punkin to her family and friends. Her sweet demeanor and pure intentions, led her to always want to see the good in people. Always, forgiving those who wronged her, and always wanting to change everyone for the better. This mentality blinded her from paying attention to the warning signs.
On the morning, of May, 17, 2020, Christia was brutally beaten, then shot and killed by her boyfriend. She hadn’t even been in this relationship for a year before things took a turn for the worse. Just two days before her death, Tia, complained that he had choked her and prevented her from leaving home. She reported that this was not the first time he had physically abused her. Thinking things would get better, she decided to stay and work things out. Unfortunately, just days later her life would end tragically. She was only 22 year old. If only she would have never went back!
